The genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3 tells us that Adam is the “Son of God.”
This title helps us understand the true humanity -
God made humanity and called Adam to be:
Prince of God:
–the son bearing God’s royal image as his offspring that looked like him
–the mediator of God’s dominion by subduing and conquering the earth
–the recipient of God’s inheritance of the “earth”/land
God called Adam and his descendants,
Abraham and his descendants – Israel,
David and his descendants – the Royal Davidic throne
and Finally it was narrowed to being Jesus
Jesus was the true King, true covenant people, and true humanity.
In the Messiah (in Christ) we too may be fulfilled and be fulfilling this call.
